LOVI
Lovi is a family business, based in Northern Finland, known for the beautiful wooden decorations designed and patented by Anne Paso.
The products come from Finland and are made from the highest Finnish quality, PEFC-certified birch plywood.
Today, northern forests are growing faster than they are being cleared. Lovi hopes the same goes for the rest of the world. To help with that, Lovi donates a portion of its income to replanting schemes in areas affected by drought, erosion or flooding.
About LOVI
“In the beginning there was only a wooden stick and the designer's problematic relationship with plastic as a material.
In 2001 I wanted to make a wooden Christmas ball for Christmas trees as an alternative to plastic. The very first version was a stick with pieces of veneer on it. I quickly realized it was supposed to be like a 3D puzzle, so the recipient would be the one who would have the satisfaction of putting it together.
A new type of connection made the idea realistic because the pieces could easily be pushed together. The package was then given a postcard-like label and the product was ready. The very first Lovi baubles were sent as flat Christmas greetings in 2003.
Inspired by the reception and possibilities I saw in the patented structure, I created a whole series of creatures for the wooden world of Lovi. After all these years, I still love to find solutions and design timeless beauty that brings unforgettable moments in people's lives. "
