About us

We are Martijn and Natascha Hoogenkamp,

Together with our daughter Elise and son Lars, we went to Sweden for the first time in 2018. The reason for this was to discover something different than Italy or France.
During this holiday we were very surprised by the natural beauty of the country, the tranquility and the nice people.

During this tour we discovered the Glasriket in the south of Sweden. An area with a rich history in the field of glass production in which Venetian influences have left a clear mark. Here we visited various small and large glass factories where the focus is now mainly on glass art.

Moving on to the middle of Sweden, we became acquainted with the wood crafts and in particular the link with and respect for nature.

This is also reflected in the Scandinavian design, which appeals to us very much.

We both have a preference for beautiful things and design. Our motto is therefore 'we do it well or not'. What we mean by that is; if we like something but it is expensive, we like to save for it so that we can still buy what we really like.
During holidays we are therefore often looking for small shops where items are sold that you cannot buy at every shop on the corner. This mainly concerns articles for the interior and beautiful (ornamental) glassware.

Like many Dutch people, we also stayed in the Netherlands for vacation in the summer of 2020. During one of our trips, again looking for small nice shops, we found a shop that specializes in Scandinavian interior items.
This inspired us and was the start to delve further into this market during the holidays and we have now come to the point of starting seriously with this.
